Abstract

The clip stabilises a ring binder or lever arch file. The stabilising clip is attached at the opening edges of the front and back outer cover of the file. The clip holds front and back covers of a file the same distance apart as the width of the spine of the file.

Description
This invention relates to a file stabilising clip.
When ring binder and lever arch files are stood side by side or laid on their side and stacked on top of each other, the width between the opening edges of the file being narrower than the width of the spine, creates an angle resulting in the files moving or sliding.
To overcome this, this invention proposes a clip which attaches to and holds the rigid front and back outer covers at the opening edges of the file, the same distance apart as the width of the spine of the file.
The clip attached to the file, forms a rigid rectangular structure allowing the files to stand side by side or be stacked on top of each other its side, without moving or sliding.
An example of the invention will now be described referring to the drawings (pagel/1)
Figure 1 shows position of files when stood side by side without stabiliser
Figure 2 shows position of files when stood side by side with stabiliser
Figure 3 shows position of files when stacked on sides without stabiliser
Figure 4 shows position of files when stacked on sides with stabiliser
In figure 1, the files side by side naturally move to an angle as the opening edges (a) of the files are narrower than the width of the spine (b).
Figure 2 shows the position of files side by side when the file stabiliser (c) the same width as the spine (b) of the file is attached at the opening edges (a) creating a rigid rectangle.
In figure 3, the files stacked on their side will slide due to the angle created as the opening edges (a) of the files are narrower than the width of the spine (b).
Figure 4 shows the position of files stacked on their side when the file stabiliser (c) the same width as the spine (b) of the file is attached at the opening edges (a) creating a rigid rectangle.

  1. Claims
    A clip which stabilises a ring binder or lever arch file by means of attaching the stabilising clip at the opening edges of the front and back outer cover of the file.
