Abstract
242,346. Readeker, W. C., and Claremont Laboratories, Inc. Aug. 6, 1924. Kinematograph apparatus. - In apparatus wherein an endless, film is fed from the interior of a coil to the gate and is rewound on the exterior of the coil, sprockets 13, 14 feeding the film to and from the gate 2 are mounted on a common shaft 15; a separately mounted sprocket 18 may be, arranged within the coil 7 to feed the film in an oblique loop to the feed sprocket 13, all the sprockets being operatively connected together. The film coil is carried by a circular cluster of rollers 5 arranged round an opening in a plate 4 which is held in a box-like casing 1 by grooved ways so constructed as to permit its lateral removal. Radial prongs 9 are attached to some of the spindles of the rollers 5 to retain the film and are movable to permit its removal. The shafts 15, 16 of the sprockets 13, 14 18 are carried by a standard 12 and are connected by chain gearing 12, the shaft 15 being driven from a shaft 19 by a universal coupling 22, a shaft 20, and bevel gears 21. The shaft 19 may be vertically adjustable as described in Specification 242,347. The sprockets 14, 18 are arranged in the same plane as the cluster of rollers 5, and the axes of all the sprockets and of the cluster of rollers 5 are in the same plane.
