Abstract
241,130. Kaye, W. K., and Kaye, J. V. June 2, 1925. Catches, spring. - A pivoted hook catch for sliding doors provided with two hook catches B, B<1> respectively adapted to engage striking plates at opposite sides of the door frame to hold the door in either the fully-opened or closed position, has a catch-releasing member 0 carried by a spindle provided with handles H, H<1> at opposite sides of the door, and arranged to be rocked to disengage the operative catch when pressure is applied to a handle to slide the door in the required direction. The catches are urged to the engaging position by springs R, R<1> bearing against an H-shaped member C. A hand or key operated sliding locking member D<1> may be provided having projections D adapted to prevent movement of the member O by engagement with projections O<1> thereon. In an alternative arrangement, the pivoted catches may be mounted on the door frame, the casing on the door carrying striking plates and a handle-operated catchreleasing mechanism.
