Securing pulleys on shafts. - Railway-vehicle - dynamo pulleys are secured to their shafts by forming them in two halves and by securing two or more spaced cast-iron or other metal shaftgripping blocks e to a sleeve or strap c forming the hub of each pulley half. Bolts are passed through lugs c<1> on the sleeve ends to tighten the blocks on the shaft. The rivets f securing the blocks engage recesses e<1> in the blocks and may also secure the divided web discs a to the sleeves. The blocks are of such size as to fit a shaft of minimum size, and when the pulley is to be fitted to a larger cylindrical or taper shaft the two pulley halves are secured in position in a lathe with the lugs c<1> suitably spaced, and the inner faces of the blocks are machined to size.
