Vacuum tubes.-A valve has an incandescent cathode 5, an anode 4, a central grid 6 and one or more auxiliary grids 7, 8, the grids being mounted symmetrically to the cathode and arranged on cylindrical surfaces having the same radius. One of the auxiliary grids acts as a space-charge grid and another as an anode screen. One or more of the grids may consist of multiplex wires the ends of which are soldered together. In a modification the grids are arranged on a common cylindrical surface.
