Closed solid-fuel stoves: dampers; baffles.-A water-heating stove of the type comprising an annular shaft f arranged over grate k, the centre space of the boiler forming a fuel-magazine, and the combustion products passing up round the outer wall, is provided with a removable sleeve s and baffle-ring r resting on top of the boiler, thus forming an annular flue to which the combustion products outlet O is connected and also a hopper t for the fuel. The stove casing is formed in three sections a, b, c, containing respectively the grate and ashpit, the boiler, and the annular flue. The boiler is removably supported on lugs d projecting from a flange e on the base section a. A suspended flue-damper q, having radial perforations regulated by a correspondingly-perforated plate q<1> rotatably mounted on it. is operated by the draught, which tends it to close the outlet. Theash-pit may be dispensed with and the fuel burnt on a solid hearth. In a modification the stove- and boiler are of elongated form in plan, consisting of semicircular end sections with interposed straight side members. The stove may form part of a cooking-stove, or it may be en-- closed in an air-heating chamber.
