Abstract
238,634. Denston, W. J. May 29, 1924. Couplings, disconnectible; with valves.-In unions for grease guns of the kind in which radially-arranged locking-pieces, provided on the union a, are adapted to enter an annular groove c<4> in the usual nipple c on the part to be lubricated by the part-revolution of a ring f applied over the union, said locking-pieces comprise pins d<2>, each provided with a spring e for forcing same out of engagement with the groove c<4>, when the ring f is so rotated that pockets f<4> therein coincide with the pins d<2>. Rotation of the locking-ring is limited by a pin provided upon the union body coacting with a slot in the said ring, while fluid-tightness between the two members is secured by means of a washer j<4> fitted on a bored slidable member j, the ends of which are adapted to open the ball valves a<3>, c<2> of the union and nipple respectively, when connection is made.
