Abstract

A disposable liner 1 for a cooking utensil such as a roasting tin comprises a sheet of material with a piece of cord 2 extending around its perimeter to form a drawstring mechanism. The cord is partially exposed to allow it to be grasped and pulled together to close the sheet tight in the form of a pouch enclosing residual cooking liquids.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Disposable cooking liner This invention relates to cooking. It helps contain liquids including fat and meat juices in a liner to make it easier, cleaner and more convenient to dispose such waste. Such liners are not yet on the market, instead people use inconvenient, dirty, messy ways to dispose liquids such as :- 1. Pouring such liquids into sink, not a good idea, it will eventually block the sink.
2. Pouring such liquids into a cup. By this time there is fat and meat juices in the pan, cup and probably all over the work surface.
3. Pouring such liquids directly into bin, when you go to empty the bin there will be liquids dripping out of the bin liner onto the floor. Now both bin and floor need cleaning.
4. Placing foil on the bottom of the pan. The problem with foil is that it will not cover the sides of the pan. It is also not leak proof and has no drawstring to close liquids within the foil.
The objective of this invention is to provide people with a clean, convenient, simple way to dispose liquids.
Accordingly, this invention provides a sheet of material with integral drawstring.
Preferably the disposable cooking liner is made from a soft, strong, leak proof material, of which is able to be put into the oven and microwave. Its drawstring will be enclosed around the perimeter of the sheet of material. The drawstring will also have to be strong and able to go in both oven and microwave.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :-
'Figure 1, shows a plan of the whole disposable cooking liner.
* Figure 2, is a section showing the drawstring protruding through the disposable cooking liner.
* Figure 3, shows a cross section of the disposable cooking liner including the drawstring enclosed around the perimeter of the liner.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
As shown in figure 1 the disposable cooking liner comprises of a sheet of material 1 and the drawstring 2.
As shown in figure 2 the drawstring 2 is a single looped cord, protruding through a cut out in the sheet of material 1 enabling the drawstring 2 to be pulled together when disposal is required.
As shown in figure 3 a cross section of the sheet of material 1 and the looped drawstring 2. Showing the drawstring 2 enclosed around perimeter of the sheet of material 1.

How to use Place liner into roasting tin, place meat/potatoes into liner, cook in oven as normal. When meat/potatoes are cooked gently remove from liner, ensuring that cooked meat/potatoes are not stuck to base. If meat/potatoes are stuck to base gently twist side to side to release. When meat/potatoes have been removed from liner, allow liner and its contents to cool. When cool, pull drawstrings on each end till closed. Place thumb & index finger on top of package and place other hand under package. Gentle place in bin.
