Abstract

236,871. Jackson, W., and Jackson & Co., Ltd., W. April 17, 1925. Vehicle lamps, directing.-In means for tilting vehicle lamps, an eccentric d or the like is adapted to be turned by a lever k and a rope l or other means against the action of a spring j for tilting the lamps, a stop being provided to locate the lamps in normal position. In one form, as shown in Fig. 2, the eccentric d is mounted on one of the brackets c, which carry a rocking-shaft b, to which the headlamps a are attached. An eccentric strap e is connected by a pin f to a bracket g on the shaft b, an adjustable stop h bearing on a projection i in the normal position. In a modification, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, each lamp a is carried by a bracket g, mounted on an inclined pin b on a bracket c so that the side of the road is illuminated when the lamps are tilted. The brackets g are formed with projections e, which engage the spherical faces of eccentrics d, mounted on a common rocking shaft d<2>, one of the projections e engaging a stop h in the normal position.
