Abstract

339,786. Smith, F. H. Dec. 7, 1929. Reflectors; mounting reflectors on lamp casings.-The light projected by a vehicle lamp is rendered non-dazzling and has its fog-penetrating power increased by means of a parabolic or like reflecting surface having spaced segments 6 which are adapted to project a central concentrated beam of amber colour and which are separated by annular ribs or depressions 2 adapted to project a white or amber tinted beam in the form of a halo around the central beam. In a modification the top halves only of some of the segments are of amber colour, and only that portion of the reflecting surface in front of the plane 3-3 may be used within an existing reflector. The reflector may be split at 7 in order that it may be sprung into a lamp body.
