Abstract

A board game where players throw dice which govern moves of player tokens round a path on the board is characterised by the board having inner and outer annular rings and players collecting counters when landing on specified segments of the path, movement between inner and outer rings depending upon the number of counters in hand, and the winner being the first player to collect a specified larger number of counters. The rules of the game involve the correct answering of a general knowledge question before being allowed to throw dice in any turn, the provision of chance cards, and the performing of tasks and/or forfeits.

Description

The objective of the game is for each player's character to work their way around different sections of the board, answer all required questions, perform all tasks and collect contraception counters.
If any player refuses to do a task or answer a particular question they have to take a forfeit. During the course of the game, it is the object of each character to collect five contraception counters before anyone else.
The winner is then able to select any of the other players to go to bed for fifteen minutes.
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a board game apparatus comprising a is series of different coloured counters for moving over a board acting as a playing surface; a series of playing cards, for example, Ultimate Dare cards, Truth cards, Dare cards, Sex Act cards, General Knowledge cards, Shield cards, Get Out of Grotto cards, dice, a water pistol, contraception counters, a reference guide f or a Games Master, and a blindfold; wherein the playing area of the board game comprises a circular centre section and surrounding annular playing regions forming inner and outer annular playing regions; encompassing the outside of the outer annular playing region there are evenly positioned character representations of the players; inbetween said character representations of the players and encompassing the outer annular playing region there are interrupted box- 2 like annular regions; said inner and outer annular playing regions being formed by a series of rings; said inner and outer annular playing regions being further partitioned into box-like sections by lines directed to the centre of the circular centre section; the inner and outer annular playing regions of the playing surface forming a path for the counters to traverse around; said box-like sections having instructions within them in accordance with the rules of the game.
Preferably, there are 6 coloured counters, 25 Ultimate Dare cards, 75 Truth cards, 75 Dare cards, 50 Sex Act cards, 50 General Knowledge cards, 10 Shield cards, 10 Get out of Grotto Cards, 2 dice and 30 contraception counters.
Preferably, the counters are individually coloured and is may for example be either red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple.
Preferably, the character representations are: a workman, a nurse, a policeman, a French maid, a doctor and a school teacher.
Preferably, the box-like sections may comprise all or a selection of the following instructions or statements:
"The Grotto", "Truth", "Move any Player to the Box of Your Choice", "Safe Sex", "Strip for Me Babel', "?", "In the Grotto", "Dare", "The Joker", "Against the Clock", "Fantasy", "Move to any Box of Your Choice", "Get Out of the Grotto Card", "Getting Wetter", "Select a Stripper", "Blindfold &: Fondle", "Start", "Dirty Dance", "Ultimate Dare", "Get Down", "Jonny Rotten", "Sex Act", "GrouiD 3 Fondle Sex Change", "Shield", "Grotto Invite", "Freedom", "Fondle" and "Cream Cake".

Preferably, a player is relegated to the outer annular playing region from the inner annular playing region if at any time they have less than three contraception counters.
Preferably, contraception counters are won by landing on "Safe Sex" boxes.
Preferably, the player who first obtains five contraception counters selects any other player to bed for fifteen minutes.
An embodiment of the present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows a playing surf ace of a board game according to the invention, said game being played in accordance with the rules given hereinafter.
The board game shown in Figure 1 comprises a playing board 10 which has an annular playing surface 12. Within the annular playing surface 12 there is a plurality of further annular regions. There is a main outer annular 4 playing region 14 and an inner annular playing region 16.
Within the inner annular playing region 16, there is a centre section 17 marked "The Journey to the Centre". The inner and outer annular playing regions 14, 16 are further partitioned into respective inner and outer box-like sections 18 by lines 20 directed towards the centre section 17.
The box-like sections 18 have any of the following instructions or statements in them: "Truth", "Move any
Player to the Box of Your Choice", "Safe Sex", "Strip for Me Babe", "In the Grotto", "Darelf, "The Joker", "Against the Clock", "Fantasy", "Move to any Box of Your Choice", "Get Out of Grotto Card", "Getting Wetter", "Select a Stripper", "Blindfold &: Fondle", "Dirty Dance", "Ultimate Dare", "Get Down", "Jonny Rotten", "Sex Act", "Group Fondle", "Sex Change", "Shield", "Grotto Invite", "Freedom", "Fondle" and "Cream Cake".
On the outer edge, evenly spaced and encompassing the outer annular playing surface 14, there are representations of six characters 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 which the participants play under. The characters 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 are: a fireman 22, a nurse 24, a policeman 26, a French maid 28, a doctor 30 and a school teacher 32.
Inbetween the six representations of the six characters 22, 24, 26, 28, 30 32 encompassing the outer edge of the outer annular playing surface 14 there are six interrupted annular regions 1S. Within the six interrupted annular regions 15 there is the term "The Grotto".
APPARATUS The apparatus comprises: a playing board 10; six coloured counters 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66; twenty-five Ultimate Dare cards 34; seventy-five Truth cards 36; seventy-five Dare cards 38; fifty Sex Act cards 40; fifty General Knowledge cards 42; ten Shield cards 44; ten Get Out of Grotto cards; two dice 48; water pistol 50; thirty Contraception Counters 52, a reference guide 53 for a Games Master and a blindfold 54.
RULES Initially, a Games Master is nominated by all of the players. The Games Master ensures that the game is played in accordance with the rules of the game.
The game is played by a variety of male and female players, who are positioned around the board at the representations of the characters 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 in the order of male, female, male, female, etc. The players play using a coloured counter 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66.
First of all, each player rolls the two dice 48. The player who rolls the highest wins the right to start the game. In the event of any number of players throwing the same score, these players re-throw the dice 48 to determine the order for starting. If required the re-throwing of the dice 48 is repeated. The rest of the players then start the game, taking their turn in a clockwise fashion from the highest roller.
6 Each player starts at their respective character positions 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 situated around the annular playing surface 12 with their chosen coloured counter 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66. In the order determined by the first said rolling of the dice 48, the participants are asked a General Knowledge question. A General Knowledge card 42 is selected by the Games Master lifting the top card on the General Knowledge card 42 pile. The participant is then asked the question printed on the card.
If the question is answered correctly, the participant then rolls the two dice 48 whereby their counter 56, 58f 60, 62, 64, 66 progresses around the outer annular playing region 14 in a clockwise fashion counting from the box directly below their character representation 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, is 32. If the question is answered wrong, the player's counter 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66 waits on its graphic representation 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 until it is their turn to throw the dice 48 again.
when it is a player's turn, they must answer a General Knowledge question correctly prior to obtaining the right to throw the dice 48.
When a player lands on a box 18 on the playing surface 12, they must follow the instructions contained within that box 18.
When a character's counter 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66 lands on a "Safe Sex" box, they win a Contraception Counter 52. There are four "Safe Sex" boxes on the playing surface 12: three on the outer annular playing surface 14 and one 7 on the inner annular playing surface 1G.
If a player lands on a box 18 where there is another player of the opposite sex then they have to kiss for ten seconds.
If a player lands on a "Truth" box, a "Dare" box, a "Sex Act" box, a "Shield" box or an "Ultimate Dare" box, then they take a card from the required card pile. The player then retains the "Shield" card or performs the required task.
The game continues on this format until one player has gained three Contraception Counters 52. At this point the player with three contraception counters 52 is promoted to the inner annular playing region 16 where they begin at the "START" box.
The game then continues with each player taking their turn of answering questions and throwing the dice 48 as usual. Any number of the players may be promoted to the inner annular playing surface 16.
If any of the players promoted to the inner annular playing surface 16 lose a contraception counter 52 and the number that they have is then less than three, then they have to go back to their characters 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32 starting position outside the annular playing surface 14.
The player then restarts as before.
When a player's counter 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66 lands on an "In The Grotto" box, they are placed in their respective colour co-ordinated Grotto box. While they are there, they have to perform all of the tasks of the two 8 players whose colours are at either side of "The Grotto" bound player, e.g. if the red player was sent to "The Grotto" box they would have to do all the tasks that the purple and blue player lands on. (This can work in their favour, because if one of the other players lands on a "Safe Sex" box, the person in "The Grotto" gets the contraception counter 52). When there are less than six players, any member sent to their Grotto box has to perform all of the tasks of every other member on the board.
To escape from "The Grotto,, box, a player must throw seven or over on their turn or use a previously obtained Get Out of Grotto card. The player remains in "The Grotto" box until this score is achieved. This occurs for a maximum of 3 turns. If after the third roll, the Grotto bound player has still not rolled a seven or more, they are placed on the "In the Grotto" box on the outer annular playing surface 14 and continue to play as normal.
If a player refuses to do any of the tasks, they must perform a forfeit. The forfeits are chosen from any of the following:
1. Drink a shot, of a strong alcoholic drink; 2. Remove one item of clothing; 3. Kiss a player nominated by the Games Master for 10 seconds.
All dares and tasks etc are performed with whatever clothes are on the player at the time when the action is to take place. Under no circumstances should a player remove or put on more clothes to do the acts.
9 The game is won by the player who first obtains five contraception counters 52. The winner can then select any of the other players to go to bed for fifteen minutes.
