Abstract

The retractable mobile phone hands free kit is a unit contained within one of three separate housings, being: <UL ST=" $ "> <LI>a clip on unit attaching directly to the phone itself <LI>a case (leather or otherwise) containing the unit <LI>a mobile phone containing the unit. </UL> The unit has three separate stages: <UL ST=" $ "> <LI>The attachment to the phone, being a specialized connector to match the phone makers output connection. <LI>A drum containing the chord, a spring (to withdraw the chord) and a damping device (to slow the withdrawal). <LI>The mouth and ear piece. </UL> These are all housed within the unit. The withdrawal mechanism is activated by a button situated on the unit. The phone can be answered by pulling the earpiece from the unit or by pushing a second button situated on the chord itself.

Description

2352582 Retractable mobile phone hands free kit Problem: At present there
are hands free mobile phone kits for the mobile user. These consist of a length of wire connecting the phone to an ear and mouth piece. The problem with this design is that when the phone is not in use the chord is loose, cumbersome and becomes entangled.
Solution: My invention is a design of hands free kit which retracts the wire chord when the phone is not in use allaying the above problems. It also has several other features built-in to facilitate the phone user.
Description: The basic design consists of a unit containing a spring loaded winding mechanism, this retracts the wire chord back into the unit once the user has finished using the phone.
The winding device consists of a cylinder attached to a spring, the winding ZD action is damped using a friction device (such as a case of oil and paddles), however any damping technique could be used.
The winding mechanism is activated by pushing a button on the device. This releases the ratchet which prevents the chord automatically retracting when the phone is in use.
The phone can be answered by pulling the earpiece from its holder or by pushing a button situated on the chord. The call can be terminated by retracting the chord or pushing the button.
The unit will come in several packagings.
For each type of phone the following would be available:
An attachable unit.
A case containing the unit.
The unit being installed within the phone itself The connection to the phone will depend on the make of the phone.
