Abstract

A tube 1 containing a wick 2 runs from a water container 3 into an air intake tube 4. As the air passes over the wet wick 2, water vapour from the wick is carried into the engine intake, increasing efficiency and fuel economy. The faster the engine speed, the more vacuum it produces; if you have a high vacuum, you have a greater amount of air passing over the wick and this increases the amount of water vapour that goes into the air intake of the engine. The water level 5 in the container 3 may be maintained automatically. The air intake tube 4 may be fitted close to the exhaust manifold to increase evaporation. A heating element may be used instead of a wick, eg for arctic conditions.

Description

2352479 A WATER VAPOUR VACUM SUPERCHARGER This invention increases
efficiency of the internal combustion engine by injecting water vapour into the engine and increasing the fuel economy as well. This is achieved by fitting a water container. From the water container one or more tubes and wicks are fitted into the main air intake pipe just before the air filter element on the engine.
As the aire passes over the wet wick or wicks it evaporates the water vapour from the wick or wicks through the air air filter element into the engine. The water container can be automaaticly filled with water by means of a pipe been fitted from the water container to a seporate water container and fitting a float switch with a electric pump or a float and needle valve. If the wick method is used to evaporate the water vapour from the wet wick the air intake pipe can be fitted close to the engine exhaust manifold or taken from the rear of the radiator. If it is taken from the exhaust manifold, as the air passes over the exhaust manifold and into the main air intake it is heated up by the heat from the hot exhaust manifold and this increases the evaporation of the water vapour from the wet wick.
It can work by fitting a heating element in place of the wick. If this method is used a varable ressister will be used to control the water vapour output from the water container. This way was invented to work in artic condition. It can be fitted to four stroke engines, two stroke engines, diesel engines and engines that are powered by propane gas.
The working principle of this invention is to make use of the oxygen and hydrogen in the water vapour by burning it in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine when it is on the firing stroke and as fired it burns the oxygen and hydrogen in the water vapour and increases the engine performance; by doing this it increases the fuel economy as well.
2 This invention increses the efficientcy of the internal combustion engine by injecting water vapour into the engine and there by incresing the fuel economy as well. The heating element is powered from a battery.
