Abstract

235,056. Kops, W. June 16, 1924, [Convention date]. Materials for corsets, brassieres, and other garments.- A flesh-reducing corset or like garment comprises a body portion formed of sheet indiarubber with an extensible absorbent textile fabric permanently united to the inner surface by vulcanization. The textile fabric may be a knitted silk fabric so as not to interfere with the elasticitv of the india-rubber. As shown in Fig. 3, reinforcing strips 21, 22 are provided and steels 23, 24 extend a suitable distance downwards. Eyelets for lacing and a tongue 28 are also provided. the garment may be in two halves. As shown in Fig. 10, the fabric 63 may be provided on both sides of the sheet of india-rubber and the sheet pierced with holes 62, which may pass also through the fabric.
