Abstract

Tree-feeling; reciprocating-saw machines.-A tree-felling saw 1 is connected to its operating rod 11 through a universal joint 12, so that the saw can be laterally adjusted on a horizontal guide 16, and the operating rod 11 is connected to the main cross-head 4 through a second universal joint 13, allowing the saw to be used horizontally or tilted at different levels. The cross-head guides 7 are pivoted at 3 and adjustable in inclination by means of a vertical guide 8. The saw is supported by a roller 23, and may be reversed in the driving block 10. For cross cutting the saw is connected directly to the crosshead 4, and the fore-carriage 19 is removed, the saw resting on the log and being fed by gravity.
