Switches, quick action, for simultaneous control of a number of circuits, comprise a movable switch member a, a detent arrangement for holding the member a in one of two positions, and an operating lever f, f<1> one arm f of which is adapted to strain a spring tending to move the member a into the other position and the other arm f<1> of which releases the detent after the spring has been sufficiently strained. According to the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the spring k is coiled round the spindle g of the lever and bears with its ends against pins k, m carried by the lever f and disc a respectively, and the detent e is released by a pin i on the arm f<1>. In a modification, Fig. 3, two springs n connect two pins o, o' which embrace the lever f and a projecting arm of the disc a, and in another modification, Fig. 5, there are two detents p, r, released by two pins i<1>, i<2>. The member a which is preferably a disc as shown, either carries V-shaped contacts c, Fig. 1 which bridge contacts 1, 2 or 2, 3 in the various circuits, or insulating pieces a<4>, Fig. 7, which either separate pairs of fixed contacts c, d, or allow them to engage.
