Abstract

The lock comprises a frame of steel, cast iron, &c. with a hollow section C filled with material resistant to cutting, a U-shaped top part fitting around the frame of the motorcycle or bicycle B and a shaft S locating through holes in the U-shaped part to engage an integral locking device L. The device is rigidly attached to the ground or the floor of a building, vehicle or trailer. An integral alarm may be fitted at A. The U-shaped part may have flexible pressure pads and extended flanges to prevent removal of head bolts.

Description

3 1 FRAME LOCK This invention relates to a frame lock for a motorcycle or
bicycle.
2338692 Bicycles and motorcycles are stolen from sheds, garages, gardens and vehicles. The only way to protect them is to secure them to an immovable structure with a chain and padlock or U lock. But doors are forced and the strongest chain can be cut with modern bolt cutters.
This is why 1 invented the frame lock.
The features of the invention are as follows: The frame lock is fabricated from steel, cast iron or similar, which has a hollow section filled with a cutting resistant compound with means for rigid attachment to the ground, or floor of a building, vehicle or trailer. The U shaped top is lined with a flexible material and fits around the frame of the motorcycle or bicycle with an extending flange which prevents removal of head bolts. A shaft locates through two holes and into an integral locking device thus enclosing the motorcycle or bicycle. An integral alarm is also fitted. It can be used in conjunction with other devices, is free-standing and, using relevant measurements will fit any type of motorcycle or bicycle.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings; Figure 1 Shows the main frame from the front with shaft S which fits through the holes P and locates in the locking device L.. Cut out A- is for the fitting of an alarm. Hollow section C is filled with a cutting resistant compound.
Figure 2 Shows the side elevation.
Figures 3 and 4 Show the same views as Figures 1 and 2 with a motorcycle B and shaft S in place thus surrounding the frame of the motorcycle or bicycle.

Claims (6)

1 A motorcycle or bicycle lock comprising of a free-standing frgrpe fgTjpated from steel, cast iron or similar material. It has a hollow section which is filled with a cutting resistant compound. A U shaped tQp 4fd Vidi flexible pressure pads fits around the frame of a motorcycle or bicycle and a shaft locates through two holes into an integral locking device thus enclosing the motorcycle or bicycle.
2 A motorcycle or bicycle lock as claimed in Claim 1 which has a rigid attachment to the ground or floor of a building.
3 A motorcycle or bicycle lock as claimed in Claim 1 which has a rigid attachment to the floor of a vehicle or trailer.
4 A motorcycle or bicycle lock as claimed in Claim 1, 2 and 3 wherein an integral alarm is fitted.
A motorcycle or bicycle lock as claimed in Claim 1,2,3 and 4 which can be used in conjunction with other devices.
6 A motorcycle or bicycle lock as claimed in Claim 1,2,3,4, and 5 which has extended flanges to prevent removal of head bolts.
