Abstract

Projectile, fuzes.-A safety disc 4 is interposed between the percussion cap 5 and the firing pin 2 of a time fuze, the resistance of the disc to penetration by the firing-pin determining the safety of the fuze. The movable striker may be the firing-pin; the safety disc is then put close against the percussion cap. Or, as shown in Fig. 2, the movable striker may be the percussion cap; a space 7 is then left between the cap 5 and the disc 4. The striker is normally held forward by a spring 8.
