Abstract

385,595. Fuzes for aerial bombs. PEVIANI, M., 8, Via Solferino, Lodi, Italy. March 25, 1931, No. 9139. Convention date, April 5, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 9 (i).] An aerial bomb 1 is burst above ground by means of a detonating cord 5 fired by the impact of a body 2 in advance of the bomb. When the bomb is dropped, a safety fork 8, 11 is pulled out, thereby releasing the body 2 from a tube 7 projecting from the bomb, and also leaving free the two members 3, 4 of a percussion fuze, which on impact come together and fire the cord 5. To ensure that the body 2 shall fall in advance of the bomb, the latter may be retarded by a baffle 6.
