Abstract

230,613. Jeannotte, E. A. Feb. 23, 1924. Vehicle lamps; lighting, systems of.-To avoid the objectionable effects of glare produced by vehicle headlights, vehicles are provided with an additional lamp 1 to illuminate the road at the "off" side of the vehicle, such lamp being rigidly supported between the front and rear mudguards and below the level of the headlights. The lamp may comprise a rectangular casing 1 having a bead 3 flush with the side 2 of the vehicle body adjacent the rear mudguard, a lens 8 and reflector 7 of a shape adapted to produce a beam of wide angle being provided. In an alternative arrangement, the lamp is supported on the footboard adjacent the front mudguard.
