Extrusion machines.-In a worm-screw extrusion press of the kind described in Specifications 26713/12 and 143,659 the grooves f, Fig. 3, in the liner, in the compression chamber and in the filling-piece. at the feed-end are longitudinal or only slightly inclined to the horizontal. The bases of the grooves f may be concentric with the liner, or, as shown in Fig. 4, eccentric therewith. Two or more series of grooves f, fl, Fig. 8, may be employed in staggered relation. The ends 3 of the second series are pointed to guide the meal &c. from one series to the next.
