Abstract
229,556. Kings Patent Agency, Ltd., (Bazaud, F.). July 1, 1924. Sleepers, composite and pot; chairs, with separate jaws, and securing to sleepers.- Relates to sleepers composed of two reinforced-concrete pot sleepers of cruciform shape, which are connected together by tie-bars of reinforced concrete or metal, integral with or adjustably secured to the sleepers. The rails f are secured to hollow metallic bodies d, Fig. 12, embedded in the concrete and projecting above the surface, wooden blocks e being placed on the cross arms to support the rails clear of the member d. The rails are secured to the members d by clamps n, Fig. 16, or chairs s, Fig. 21, while chairs y, Fig. 18, may be used. Alternatively, Figs. 5 and 10, chairs h resting on wooden blocks e are secured by bolts, the heads of which enter attachment boxes g having two triangular projections to engage the bolt head and secure it in place.
