Abstract

A seat in the form of a saddle like member 7 is pivotally attached to a elongate member 2. The top of the elongate member is provided with a spring loaded hook 4, the spring being housed inside the elongate member 2. The hook engages over the rim of the bag and the lower end of the elongate member is attached to the bag by means of a strap 3. When not in use the seat folds flat against the bag. In a further embodiment [fig. 2 not shown], the elongate member is attached to the strap via a link member, so that if the bag is on a trolley, the trolley and bag can be rested on the ground at a angle, but the elongate member can stand off from the bag and stand vertically like a shooting stick. The lower end of the elongate member has a foot 8 for engaging the ground. <IMAGE>

Description

ATTACHABLE HINGED SEAT FOR A GOLF BAG THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A SEAT WHICH CAN BE FIXED TO A GOLF BAG.
WALKING STICKS THAT PROVIDE A SEAT TO REST UPON ARE KNOWN. THESE ARE CARRIED BY HAND UNTIL REQUIRED SO THAT THE USER DOES NOT HAVE BOTH HANDS FREE.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION, THERE IS PROVIDED A SEAT WHICH ATTACHES TO THE GOLF BAG BY MEANS OF A STRAP AND A SPRUNG HOOK. BY UNFOLDING THE SADDLE A SEAT IS PROVIDED WITH MOVEMENT BY MEANS OF A SPRING AND STRAP WITH A LOOP TO LEAN FORWARD.
A SPECIFIC EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY WAY OF EXAMPLE WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING IN WHICH: FIGURE 1 SHOWS IN PERSPECTIVE THE SEAT IN POSITION ON THE GOLF BAG.
FIGURE 2 SHOWS THE SEAT IN POSITION ON THE GOLF BAG FIXED TO A GOLF TROLLEY.
FIGURE 3 SHOWS THE SEAT IN A CLOSED POSITION.

REFERRING TO THE DRAWINGS, THE SEAT 2 IS ATTACHED TO THE GOLF BAG BY MEANS OF A SPRUNG HOOK 4 AND STRAP 3. WHEN USED WITH A GOLF BAG AND TROLLEY, THE BRACKET 6 IS USED. IN ORDER TO USE THE SEAT 2 THE SADDLE 7 IS OPENED BY MEANS OF THE HINGE 10. THE FOOT 8 IS PLACED ON THE GROUND AND THE SEAT IS USED AS A SADDLE WITH ANY MOVEMENT TAKEN BY THE SPRING 11 AND STRAP WITH LOOP 3. WHEN LEAVING THE SEAT, IT RETURNS BY MEANS OF THE SPRING TO THE FIXED POSITION ON THE GOLF BAG.

Claims (3)

1. A HINGED SEAT WHICH CAN BE FIXED TO A GOLF BAG BY MEANS OF A SPRUNG HOOK AND ADJUSTABLE STRAP PROVIDING THE USER A PLACE TO REST.
2. A HINGED SEAT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 WHEREIN A BRACKET IS PROVIDED TO ADAPT THE SEAT FOR A GOLF BAG ON A GOLF TROLLEY.
3. A HINGED SEAT SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO FIGURES 1 - 10 OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
3. A HINGED SEAT AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1 WHEREIN BY MEANS OF PERMANENT FIXED BRACKETS TO A GOLF BAG A SEAT IS PROVIDED.
4. A HINGED SEAT SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH REFERENCE TO FIGURES 1 - 10 OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. THE SEAT IS HINGED TO AN ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER, THE UPPER END OF WHICH IS PROVIDED WITH A SPRUNG LOADED HOOK. THE HOOK ATTACHES OVER THE RIM OF A GOLF BAG. THE LOWER END OF THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER IS ATTACHED TO THE BAG BY MEANS OF A STRAP PASSING AROUND THE BAG. THE STRAP HAS A LOOP ALLOWING THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER TO RISE AND FALL THROUGH THE LOOP. THE SPRUNG LOADED HOOK ALSO ALLOWS FALL MOVEMENT.
THE SPRING ACTION RETURNING THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER, THUS ALLOWING THE BAG AND ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER TO LEAN OVER FROM THE VERTICAL WHILST THE BASE OF THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER REMAINS ON THE GROUND.

A HINGED SEAT AS IN CLAIM 1 WHEREIN A BRACKET IS USED IN THE FORM OF A LINK WITH ONE END CONNECTED TO THE STRAP FIXED AROUND THE BAG, THE OTHER END AROUND THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER ALLOWING THE SUPPORT MEMBER TO RISE AND FALL THUS WHEN THE HOOK IS REMOVED FROM THE RIM OF THE BAG, THE ELONGATE SUPPORT MEMBER IS FREE TO STAND OFF THE BAG. THIS CAN BE USED WHEN THE GOLF BAG IS FIXED TO A GOLF TROLLEY.
