Abstract

The putter holder consists of a tube 1 which is separate from a golf bag. The holder or tube can be secured to the bag by means of a top clip 3 and bottom strap 4 or by top and bottom straps alone. The tube is provided with a fixed bottom 6 or a loose spacer cylinder 510 allow putter to protrude a required amount from top of tube. A drain 7 is provided to allow water to run away. <IMAGE>

Description

- PANELA - PUTTER HOLDER This invention relates to a putter holder which is detachable from a golf bag.
The putter is probably the most frequently used club in a golfer's bag, but is not always easily accessible, especially in the smaller bags, as it tends to get mixed up with other clubs.
Also, having a shorter shaft, it sits very low in a conventional golf bag making location and extraction quite difficult.
According to the present invention there is provided a separate tube or pocket which is fixed to the outside of a golf bag by means of clips, straps or elastics. The holder can further be provided with a fixed or loose bottom to allow the putter to stand out further from the top of the bag, thus making location and extraction easier.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which: Figure 1 shows the putter attached to the golf bag, Figure 2 shows the holder separate from the bag.
- PANELB Referring to the drawing, the putter holder or tube 1 can be finished with a strengthening top or flange 2, and can be attached to a golf bag by either straps or elastics 4 at top and bottom of the tube, or by a clip 3 at the top and strap 4 at the bottom.
A separate cylinder or spacer 5 can be provided, which can be cut to a desired length, before dropping to bottom of tube, to allow putter to protrude sufficiently to make extraction easy. Alternatively, a fixed bottom 6 can be provided at a suitable height.
A drain must be incorporated to allow rainwater to disperse.

Claims (4)

  1. - PANELC -
    CLAIMS 1 A putter holder comprising a tube, which is separate from a golf bag.
  2. 2 A putter holder as claimed in Claim 1 wherein a clip is provided to attach top of tube to a golf bag.
  3. 3 A putter holder as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein straps or elastics are provided to attach holder to a golf bag.
  4. 4 A putter holder as claimed in Claim 1, Claim 2 and Claim 3 wherein a separate tube or cylinder is provided, which when cut to a desired length, can be inserted or dropped to the bottom of putter holder, allow the desired length of putter to protrude from top of holder.
