Abstract

226,470. Forsberg, E. A. Sept. 18, 1923. Filtering.-In a filter comprising a pile of laminae or paper or other material held under pressure between plates 2, the plates are formed with chambers 4 having removable covers 5 so that, without releasing the pressure of the pile, access can be had to the cores 9, to which the fluid to be filtered is supplied. The pile has also outlet cores 13. The lower plate 2 has apertures corresponding to both sets of cores, and a plate 6 on which the lower chamber 4 is formed has apertures corresponding to the cores 9 and channels 12 corresponding to the cores 13, through which channels the filtered fluid 'passes to outlet pipes 16. On removing the upper cover 5 cleaning rods can be introduced to push the matter collected in the cores 9 through into the lower chamber.
