Hooks, safety and closed. - A hook, particularly adapted for supporting a cable or like sling a, comprises two similar oppositelyarranged members f, pivoted together intermediate their ends by looping them around a pin or rivet i, in such a manner as to produce a relatively greater spacing between the upper portions of the members f than between the lower. The pivot i is disposed nearer to the upper end of the members f. In use, the lower hook ends e are engaged in eyelets c, securing the doubledin ends of the sling a, and the upper ends h are slipped over the wire from which the sling is to be suspended and turned through a right-angle to engage them with the wire.
