Cigar - making machines and appliances.-Cigars are made from fresh scrap tobacco by concentrating a bunch sufficiently to give it a temporary set, but not enough to close the draught passages t'o produce exterior ridges, and then immediately wrapping the bunch while it retains its temporary set. The scrap tobacco is enclosed in a binder to form the bunch SB, which is concentrated in a device 8 which may be similar in construction to an ordinary mould. A wrapper is applied to the bunch by a set of wrapping rollers and the fresh scrap cigar so formed may then be re-rolled. The bunch-forming mechanism comprises a chianti belt formed into a loop by a roller.
