Abstract

223,638. Markham, H. July 21, 1923. Spring devices.-A spring fork for motor and other cycles comprises one or more coiled springs 9, Fig. 1, attached at their upper ends directly to the fork, and at their lower ends to one or more bell-crank levers 10 pivoted at 11 to the steering-head or a part rigidly fixed thereon, in such a manner that relative movement between the fork and cycle frame exerts oppositelydirected forces upon the springs. The upper ends of the springs are attached by eye-members 14, Fig. 2, engaging reduced portions of nuts 15 screwed on to the ends of a cross-strut 3 at the top of the fork, the upper links 6 being interposed between the nuts 15 and a tube 3<b> encircling the strut.
