Abstract

A plate as a support element for a spindle frame is a substantially flat plate 3 formed into one piece from metal material by a single pressing or blanking operation. Said single pressing operation also forms in the plate surface lightening apertures, passage holes, and fixing holes for operational elements of the spinning machine. <IMAGE>

Description

- 1 FLAT METAL PLATE FOR SUPPORTING SEVERAL SPINNING SPINDLES This
invention relates to a flat metal plate for supporting several spindles one following another in a ring spinning machine, said plate being formed by a single pressing operation.
The load bearing structure forming the support frame of a machine is always open to constructional improvements which can substantially involve the type of material used and its method of working.
Such improvements can be motivated by the desire to reduce constructional costs, to improve and simplify installation, and to more closely satisfy the requirements of simplification by the user in textile mills. Cast iron support plates for spindles are well known.
By virtue of their manufacturing process said plates are of considerable. thickness and weight. They also require subsequent cold machining by machines such as chip-forming machine tools both for forming the seats for the connection and fixing of the various operating elements of the spinning machine and the removal of the burrs which are always present on metal castings. These various machining operations are made even more difficult by the considerable weight of such cast iron plates. In this respect, they are difficult to handle by the machine tool operators, all of which contributes to raising the final cost of such support elements. In view of the aforegoing, the main purpose of the present invention is to provide a support element which is considerably simplified in terms of its manufacture, to thus substantially reduce the cost of the entire ring spinning machine without affecting its operational reliability. Thus an object of the invention is to provide a metal support plate of considerably reduced cost. A further object of the present invention is to not require the support plate to be subjected to machining by chip-forming machine tools. In this respect, chip-forming machining is very costly in terms of machinery, equipment and time required, as is well known to the expert of the art. A further requirement of the present invention is that the metal support plate should be of low weight to facilitate the assembly of the entire machine.
These objects and requirements are all satisfied by the improvement in the support structure of a ring spinning machine attained by using a plate as the support element in which said plate is a substantially flat plate formed in one piece from metal by a single pressing or blanking operation.
In its surface, the plate comprises lightening apertures used both for the passage of cross-members or bars for joining together and aligning a number of spaced-apart plates, and for the passage of the service channels for the blowing or sucking air required for each spinning spindle. The plate also comprises holes in its surface, one for the passage of the drive shaft which extends longitudinally along the entire spinning machine and the others for fixing brackets or squares to said plate to be used for securing and supporting the bar carrying the presser arms, the rollers of the drafting system, the cross-member supporting the spinning spindles and the underlying cross-member which supports and guides the belts of the automatic doffing equipment. With reference to the aforesaid, the accompanying drawing shows one embodiment of the invention as an axonometric perspective schematic view of the flat metal support plate associated with the othe---t6 fofTn-the. alig-ed several identical plates spaced apart One 'jo'rl ang r mdular sections which are overall-the load-bearing fraTe for thetntire Mchine.
In the figure, identical parts carry the same reference numeral. In the single accompanying drawing: 1 is a modular section of the support frame of the ring spinning machine. Two consecutive support plates form one modular section which at least approximately comprises a number of spinning spindles equal to those of the other aligned modular sections; 2 is the support cross-member for the spinning spindles, said crossmember extending longitudinally along each face of the entire spinning machine to aid in joining together and aligning the modular sections 1; 3 is the flat metal support plate according to the present invention, formed by a single pressing operation; 4 is the bar or rod carrying the presser arms. Said bar is accompanied 1 - 4 and supported by support br or -cqjams 12 fixed to the plates 3. The bar 4, one for each working face, extends longitudinally along the entire machine to form part of the support frame for the entire spinning machine; 5 is a foot by which the machine structure is supported and levelled on the support floor; 6 is a cross-member which joins together and aligns the support plates 3. Said crossmember, extending along the entire machine, passes through the lightening aperture 9. This aperture is also used for passage of the service channels for the blowing or sucking air required for each spinning spindle; 7 is the hole for passage of the drive shaft (not shown), which extends longitudinally along the entire spinning machine to operate the spinning spindles; 8 is the support and guide cross-member for the belts of the automatic doffing equipment. Said cross-member 8 by extending along each spinning face also aids the connection and alignment of the support plates 3 and thus of the modular sections 1; 10 is the presser arm connected to and supported by the bar 4 to cooperate with the underlying drafting system, well known to the expert of the art.
