Damping-apparatus for lithographic and like machines; inking - apparatus. - In printing- machines of the kind having inking or damping rollers mounted in forks or supports in pivoted sockets, and eccentric studs or elements for adjusting the sockets about their pivots, the eccentric studs are provided with lock nuts &c. for clamping the sockets in adjusted position. The brackets on which the sockets are carried may be pivotally mounted upon the machine frame. The rollers a, contacting with the forme d and with a rider roller h in fixed bearings, are mounted in forks b carried in sockets c adjustably pivoted at c<1> to brackets e adjustably pivoted to the frame f of the machine. Screws b<1> and lock-nuts b<2> permit the contact of the rollers a with the forme d to be adjusted. The sockets c are adjustable about the pivots c<1> to vary the contact of the rollers a with the rider roller h by means of rotatable studs g screwed into holes in the brackets e and having eccentric portions g<1> engaging elongated holes c<2> in the sockets c. The studs have squared ends g<2> for turning them, and are secured in adjusted position by lock-nuts g<3>.
