Thermometers.-In a gas or liquid expansion thermometer the bulb is made of chrome-iron and the capillary tube is made either wholly of glass or partly of glass and partly of chrome-iron, the metallic part of the thermometer being sealed to the glass part. The chromium content is preferably so adjusted that the coefficient of expansion of the bulb is equal to that of the glass.
