Tank wagons; vehicles with removable bodies.-A railway vehicle has the wheeled frame or truck provided with a combination of flexible means for removably suspending a tank or body above the frame or truck and resilient means adapted to engage the body to resist endwise motion on the frame or truck. The frame a is provided on both sides with upright supports b of which the end ones are opposite one another and the intermediate ones staggered. A rope e provided with a spring anchorage h on the frame passes over pulleys d on the uprights b from side-toside and forms a cradle for the reception of a tank f or a body. Longitudinal motion of tank or body is minimized by a transverse beam m supported by spring controlled bolts l secured to the uprights. In a modification, the uprights b may be of U-shape and arranged in pairs with an endless rope passing over pulleys on each arm, the bights of the rope lying transversely to the vehicle. The uprights may be connected by stays from the side of the vehicle and the top of the U-frame may be bridged by a member after the tank or body has been dropped into place. Chocks may be placed on the uprights to support the tank or body in the event of the rope e breaking.
