Single-rail and suspended vehicles comprise a plurality of pivotally mounted trucks on which the car is supported, the trucks having double flanged wheels journaled in tandem on opposite sides of their pivots and a number of guide trucks located above the car frame in pivotal axial alignment with the pivotal connections of the car supporting trucks. The, guide trucks are provided with a number ot horizontally arranged, double flanged guide wheels which bear against a plural number of guide rails. Each axle-truck H has two or more wheels I centrally pivoted on a king-pin G<a> which is in axial alignment with the spring supported central-pivot L of a guide truck P. The guide truck comprises a number of horizontal wheels Q each provided with a detachable flange securing resilient material forming the tread. Each wheel Q is pivoted in a rotatable sleeve R, Fig. 6, which is forced outwardly by an adjust- - able spring S, and depending brackets M<2> from the truck are provided with rollers M<1> between which a shaft M is adapted to slide against the pressure of springs N<a>, one of which is weaker than the other and the compression of both of which may be adjusted by a nut N<c>. A bracket N is fixed to the shaft M and is pivotally secured to the central pivot L. The arrangement of springs in the guide truck is such that the springs S compensate for wear of the wheel rim or variation in distance between the rails and the light spring Na ensures contact between the brackets, springs and lugs whilst the heavy spring N<a> absorbs the side sway of the car. The spring L<a> on the vertical pin L prevents the wheels from binding on the guide rails.
