Abstract

A timepiece comprises a main plate (1) providing bearings for the gear wheels of a gear train between the main plate (1) and a gear train bridge (2). The timepiece has a dial face plate adjacent but spaced from the main plate, which is connected to a back casing by connectors (20). Tongue springs (2f) engage the back casing resiliently and hold the frame comprising the two plates and the components therebetween against the dial face plate. Other tongue springs (2c) hold an insulating plate (10) against two crystal unit terminals (13b) so that they bear against connecting leads on a substrate (11) pressed thereagainst by a tongue spring (1d) formed in the main plate. A tie bar (1j) positions the main plate (1) against the connector (20), whilst a bent portion of the main plate spaces the bridge (2) therefrom. A tongue spring (1e) presses an extension (10a) of the substrate (11) into electrical contact with the cathode of the battery (14). The anode cover of the battery is engaged by spring fingers (2d) on the bridge (2). <IMAGE>
