Abstract
220,736. Dawson, Sir P., and Fawdry, F. W. May 31, 1923. Systems, sectional conductor and mixed.-In electric railway systems wherein the supply conditions are such that the conductors b, f of adjacent sections have to be insulated from one another and separated by a neutral section a, the section a is connected to an adjacent conductor b through a switch c closed by hand or automatically upon the setting of a signal and opened automatically just before the leading collector leaves the section a. The switch c is opened by a solenoid h in a circuit g closed by a track device e, current being derived from section a through a transformer k. The switch c is also provided with an overload trip operating off a transformer d, but it is not opened by the signal returning to " danger."
