Golf clubs.-The head a of a golf club is streamlined at the rear by being smoothed off with a curved taper, the rear edge g being sharp and of approximately semicircular shape, extending from the toe of the club to the junction with the shaft f, a cross-section near the rear elge being lenticular. The lowermost portion of the under-surface b is formed with a radius equal to the length of the shaft, while the adjacent portions of the surface slope upwards more rapidly. As shown in Fig. 3, the under-surface b is spoon-shaped. A weight of cylindrical form may be concealed in the head with its axis at right-angles to the striking face e, and at the height of the edge g. The head a may be secured to the shaft f by a socket or scarf joint. A metal, ivorine, fibre or like wedge may be let into the striking surface.
