Abstract

Bodies. - Motor vehicles are constructed by preforming the various parts, panels, strips, and scuttle, of the outer shell of metal, enamelling them, and securing them to the wooden frame of the vehicle in such a way that the parts are separately removable. The metal panels such as 6, 7, strips such as 22, 52, 53, 54, and scuttle 5 are formed at their edges so that some of the edges when secured to the wooden frames by nails, as for example 43, Fig. 4, are hidden while the remaining edges are adapted to be concealed by mouldings comprising a hollow strip 52 to take over the heads of bolts 57 which are secured to the wooden frames 44 by nuts 59. The moulding 61 around the scuttle is preferably provided with tapped lugs 63, Fig. 9, into which securing studs, passing through the frame members, are fixed.
