Abstract

A cooker (1) particularly a built- under cooker with oven (4) and hob (2), is provided with a supporting base (6). Associated with each of the individual boiling positions of the hob (2) is an induction heating means, the switching and control module (8) for which is cooled by a blower (13). The switching and control module (8) is disposed in the supporting base (6) and adapted for removal by being pulled out forwardly. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Cooker, particularly built-under cooker The invention relates to a cooker, particularly a built-under cooker with oven and hob, which is disposed on a supporting base, wherein an induction heating means is associated with each of the individual cooking positions of the hob, having a switching and control module for the induction heating means and having a blower to cool the switching and control module.
A cooker of this type is known from the DE-OS 28 06 794. In this cooker, the switching and control elements (switching and control module) for the induction heating and the cooling fan for this are disposed between the boiling tray (hob) and the oven. Since the induction heating device as well as the associated switching and control elements and the cooling fan require a comparatively large amount of space for their accommodation or installation, the accommodation of these components between boiling tray and oven is practically only possible in a completely new or rebuilt cooker. Thus cookers already in existence cannot be converted to or later equipped with induction heating. However the complete redevelopment of a cooker with induction heating for its boiling positions, involves considerable expenditure of time and costs for new tools etc.
It is therefore the object of the invention to provide an inexpensive means which enables existing cooker models to be equipped with an induction-heated hob while at the same time particular value is to be attached to an installation of the switching and control elements (switching and control module) which is convenient for after-sales service.
In accordance with the invention a cooker of the kind initially referred to is so arranged that the switching and control module is located in the supporting base and can be removed by pulling out forwardly.
Further preferred features of the invention will become apparent from the following description and the sub-claims.
As a result of the space-saving arrangement of the switching and control elements (switching and control module) according to the invention, the advantage results that practically any cooker of conventional construction can be changed over to induction heating with the minimum expense, without having to depart from its basic design. A further advantage of this arrangement is to be seen in that the switching and control module can be made very easily accessible for maintenance work and that it is accommodated in a region of the cooker which is particularly favourable from the thermal point of view.
The invention is illustrated by way of example in the drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a front elevation of a cooker in accordance with the invention, and Figure 2 is a side view corresponding to Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings, 1 designates a cooker which is provided in the form of a built-under cooker, the associated hob 2 (boiling tray) of which is let into a so-called work top 3 which is a component of a line of builtin kitchen furniture. The hob 2 is equipped with induction heating means, known per se, for each of its cooking positions. The cooker 1 has a conventional oven 4 as a baking and roasting compartment. Below the oven 4 there is a narrow compartment 5 for storing backing tins and the like. The cooker 1 described above stands on a conventional supporting base 6 which is set back somewhat in relation to the actual cooker housing and is ventilated.
According to the invention, the switching and control module 8 for the induction heating of the boiling positions is accommodated in the space 7 in the supporting base 6. In this case, the switching and control module 8 may appropriately be installed in a watertight through 9 which is disposed in the supporting base 6, at a safe distance 10 from the surface 11 on which the cooker stands. The trough 9 with the switching and control module 8 may appropriately be adapted for removal or pulling out forwards, that is to say towards the service side, on rails or slide bars 12 provided in the supporting base 8. Furthermore, a cooling fan 13 for the switching and control module 8 is accommodated in the space 7 of the supporting base 6. A removable ventilation grating 14 with which a dust filter (flow filter) is associated, is provided in the front of the supporting base 8.
1. A cooker, particularly a built-under cooker with oven and hob, which is disposed on a supporting base, wherein an induction heating means is associated with each of the individual cooking positions of the hob, having a switching and control module for the induction heating means and having a blower to cool the switching and control module, characterised in that the switching and control module is disposed in the supporting base for removal or pulling out forwards.
2. A cooker as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the switching and control module is disposed on rails or slide bars provided in the supporting base.
3. A cooker as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the switching and control module is accommodated in a watertight trough.
4. A cooker as claimed in any preceding Claim, characterised in that the switching and control module is disposed in the supporting base with spacing from the surface on which the cooker stands.
