Abstract

The cooking top has a cooking surface (5) heated by induction elements (1, 2) underneath. These are mounted on horizontal supports underneath which hold them in contact with the underside. The top has an air entry grid (16) under the elements. Guide plates (13, 14) divide the fresh air supply into two flows, one passing the elements, the other cooling the circuit elements (10, 11) at the rear. The first flow is discharged forwards immediately above the cooking surface, through a low level grid (22). The other flow enters a vertical housing to pass between vertical guide plates (8, 12) and front plate (7) to travel through two compartments to outlet grids at the top. A fan may be used to distribute the flow of air.
