Abstract
216,984. Roxburgh, R. L. March 29, 1923. Fluid-actuated valves; seats.-A steam pressure controlled gas valve for regulating the pressure in gas fired boilers and heating apparatus has a single diaphragm valve member acted on by the steam pressure and adapted to co-operate with a ported tubular seat adjustably mounted in the valve casing. The seat g is externally threaded to engage the valve casing at p and q leaving an annular chamber j communicating with the gas outlet k and, through ports h, with the inside of the seat. The seat is secured in the adjusted position by a locknut r. 'The diaphragm valve member is clamped between two parts of the valve casing and is acted on by steam pressure admitted through a port f. A vacuum relief valve is fitted at u. A bye pass passage s controlled by a valve t is arranged in the casing with its axis parallel to that of the valve seat.
