Description

SPECIFICATION Zoom penstamp This invention relates to a marking!stamping instrument; stamping characters on writing surfaces.
Marking instruments are well known for leaving images on surfaces with which they come into contact. Stamping instruments also, are well known for the same reason as are marking instruments. The one is called a pen because of its use as a tracing or writing instrument, the other - a stamp for its own impact image marking potential.
These two functions are brought together in this invention to fuse both functions into one to produce specific results.
Both marking and stamping instruments, merged as they are, is made to contact surfaces at only one point of its combined form. The remainder of this new form takes on various sizes, designs and many varied shapes, consistent with the designs sizes and shapes of their respective contact images. It becomes as versatile as its changeable contact image as can be produced.
According to the present invention there is provided a "Zoom Penstamp" comprising a pen shaft "barrel", an ink resevoir, an ink carrier, a soft rubber pad, an impresser, a contact image and a protective penstamp cover. When charged with ink, the contact image will leave its own image on the surface to which it was applied either as a solitary impression or a tracing mark made by the user.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which figures 1 and 2 shows in perspective.
Figure 1 shows the Zoom Penstamp with the contact image (g) in position on the impresser(f).
Figure 2 illustrates the soft rubber pad (e) separating the impresser (f) from the barrel or shaft (b).
Figure 2 shows the Zoom Penstamp ink carrier (d) in position to transfer ink continuously from the resevoir to the "impressor" (f) and "contact image" (g) through recess of the soft rubber pad (e), and resevoir cover (a) in position.
Figure 2 shows also the Zoom Penstamp with the lid on.
Referring to the drawing, the Zoom Penstamp comprises a body in the form of a felt tip pen containing an ink resevoir (c) covered at one end by a resevoir cover (a) and contact image (g) sitting on an impresser (f) both joined to the ink resevoir (c) by an ink carrier (d). The ink carrier (d) is kept in contact with the impresser (f) by soft drying adhesive solution. The Zoom Penstamp cover (h) is shown closed to protect the contact image when not in use, and to prevent accidental soiling of clothing. When the cover is removed, the Zoom Penstamp is ready for use. To place an image similar in every detail in shape and size of the changeable contact image on the Zoom Penstamp, the user simply applies the surface of the "contact image" to the required spot. Having made contact with the intended surface, the exact replica of the "contact image" is left on the surface.
The Zoom Penstamp lends itself to many varietes in terms of contact images in terms of shape, size and design. Also the barrel-holder may be shaped to accommodate many sizes and designs without affecting the basic principle of the Zoom Penstamp.
1. Zoom Penstamp comprising a body in the form of a felt tip pen barrel, an ink resevoir, a resevoir cover, an ink carrier, a soft rubber pad, an impresser, a contact image which together assembled provides a means of writing and/or stamping images or markings on surfaces. The contact image is protected by a penstamp cover.
2. Zoom Penstamp, as claimed in Claim 1 wherein ink carriers are provided in the body to convey ink to the impresser and the contact image through a recess in soft rubber pad attached to the body.
3. Zoom Penstamp as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the soft rubber pads provided at the end of the penstamp body allows angle adjustments when using the Zoom Penstamp.
4. Zoom Penstamp as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3, wherein the body supports the rubber pad, impresser cum contact image.
5. Zoom Penstamp as claimed in Claim 2 or 3 wherein the ink carrier is fixed to the impresser by a strong pliable adhesive.
6. Zoom Penstamp as claimed in Claim 3 or 4 whereby the joined ink carrier and the impresser is held in position by the recess in the soft rubber pad.
