Brakes, arrangement and disposition of and braking.-The frictional drag on a brake applied to the rear wheel of a motor cycle, is utilized to effect the application of a brake on the front wheel. Fig. 1 shows a motor cycle provided with a brake block b which when applied by a cable c to a drum a on the rear wheel applies the brake block g to the front wheel by a cable e connected to a lug d, the block b being mounted so as to be capable of limited movement with the rotating drum a. A spring such as f is interposed in the connections so as to limit the pressure applied to the front wheel block. Fig. 2 shows a rear band brake i arranged to apply a front band brake o. An arrangement in which a rear external band brake applies a front internal brake and also one in which a rear internal brake applies a front block brake are also shown. According to Figs. 7 and 8, blocks 3 adapted to be applied to the rear tyres by levers are slidably mounted in a casing 5 so as to operate the front wheel brake by a lever, the sliding movement being resisted by a spring 4. Specifications 196,578, [Class 103 (i). Brakes &c.], and 207,780, are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the invention may be applied to three-wheeled cycle cars and that back wheel brakes may be operated in the manner above described. This subject-matter does not appear ia the Specification as accepted.
