Pocket igniters, frictional.-The igniter comprises a fuel container, formed of two sheet-metal casings a, b and provided with a wicktube c and a chisel-like or scooplike steel scraper d, and a pyrophoric element i mounted in a longitudinal groove h pressed into the inner wall f of a removable cap, the outer wall g of which is provided with an opening p for exposing the operative face of the element i. The upper edge q of the opening p is bent inwardly to form a stop to facilitate removal of the element i. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the element, i may be mounted in an outwardly-projecting groove pressed in the outer wall g of the cap. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
