Abstract

Dynamos, driving; casings, frames, foundations, and supports.-A dynamo which is driven by a turbine aggregate is rigidly mounted on the casing of a condenser which is positioned directly between the dynamo and the Jowpressure turbine. High and intermediate pressure turbines 1, 2, Fig. 1, are mounted in a frame 4 mounted by means of the exhaust pipe 5 on the low pressure casing 6. The turbines 1, 2 are so geared to a shaft 7 that the shaft may be directly coupled to the low pressure turbine shaft 8 which passes axially through the condenser 10 and is coupled to the shaft 12 of a dynamo 13. The shafts 8, 12 are journaled in protected bearings. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also comprises an arrangement in which the shafts 7, 8 are coupled to separate shafts which gear with a common power shaft. A bearing 15, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), is in this case arranged in the short exhaust passage from the low pressure turbine 3 to the condenser and is protected by an air shaft 21 surrounding it and passing vertically through the exhaust passage. Packing 24 is provided where the shaft 8 passes through the air-shaft 21, and it is rendered airtight by connecting the slots 25, 26 to the highpressure steam supply and to an ejector respectively, This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
