Hoists with guided skips.-Relates to a hoist operated by the load rope of a jib crane on the building as described in the parent Specification. The guides 21 for the hoist platform 4 are arranged in a plane inclined to the wall. of the building, as shown in plan in Fig. 4, in order to facilitate the removal of loads from the platform- The guides may be formed by a rope 21 anchored near the ground, passing over one or more pulleys 23, and held tight by a winch 25. The pulley 23 is mounted on a jib 26 which may be secured on the base-plate 20 of the crane in either of the positions A or B, the crane post 8 being erected at A' or B<1> accordingly. The platform 4 may be held at any floor of the building by spring bolts 27 engaging stops on the wall- Fingers 28 on the base-plate 20 engage eyes 29 on the platform to limit the lift and prevent swinging whilst unloading. A load-carrying platform may rest on rollers 50, 51, Fig. 7, on the hoist and be run off on to rollers 48, 49 adjustableon the uprights 44, 45, or on to similar adjustablerollers at the bottom of the hoist.
