Abstract

212,140. Stevens, H. H. April 9, 1923. Multiple-support and reversible handles; fixing by screwed sockets with locking-devices. - Brushes with transverse heads braced to the handle by inclined struts, have the lower ends of the struts engaged in holes in the head, and the upper ends in sockets on a collar clamped adjustably on the handle. As shown, the handle 5 has a screwed spigot 6 which may be screwed into either of the screwed sockets 4 in the head 1, and locked by lugs 8 on a collar 7 clamped on the handle bv a bolt 9. The lower ends 18 of the struts 17 are bent to engage in two of the holes 11 in the head, and the upper ends 19 to engage sockets 13 on a split collar 12 clamped on the handle by a bolt. The handle may be reversed by changing from one socket 4 to the other, and the struts 17 to the corresponding holes 11.
