Abstract
210,491. Kerr, R. P. Oct. 24, 1922. Rigid - jaw wrenches.-An open jaw spanner of the type having the jaws connected together by a strengthening web apertured to pass over the end of the bolt or stud protruding through the nut, has the web located between sets of jaws formed in opposite faces of the spanner head. The head A has open jaws a' disposed' on each side of the strengthening web B, which is provided with an aperture b<1> to take over the projecting end of the bolt or stud. The axis of the handle a<1> is set at an angle of 15‹ to the jaws so that in a confined space a nut may be turned through an angle of 60‹ by first turning it through 30‹ by one pair of jaws, then reversing the spanner on the nut, and turning it through another 30‹ with the other pair of jaws. One or two sets of strengthened open jaws may be provided at the other end of the handle.
