Abstract

209,845. Westover, G., and Watson, T. Oct. 20, 1922. Rackets.-A tennis racket of the kind having a metal frame which partially embraces the wedge portion of a wooden handle, has a frame a of substantially channel section with the concavity outside and with the curvature reversed where it embraces the handle c to which it is secured by a bolt c. The junction of the handle and the frame is covered by two plates f, secured by rivets i and provided .with inner curved parts k which fit into reduced portions of the. frame to maintain the continuity of its inner contour. The frame diminishes in depth and thickness from the neck outwards. The stringing may be of metal wire formed of a steel core surrounded by aluminium strands.
