Finishing.-A clipping machine for blocked or shaped felt hats has a rotary cutter a and an adjustable plate g adjacent to the cutter for regulating the length of cut. The hat to be trimmed is positioned over an adjustable roller s and a roller p, these rollers engaging the inside of the hat and being carried by a rod raised and lowered by a treadle. An adjustable stop on the treadle determines the operative position of the work support, and in this position the roller p presses the hat against a driven knurled roller n to feed the surface of the hat past the cutter. An adjustable comb k raises the pile prior to clipping. An exhaust pipe may be coupled to the cutter casing to draw off the clippings.
