Abstract

A floating hotel comprises a hull having a relatively small length- beam coefficient and apartments 2 arranged in tiers. Boats may be brought on board from the water via a recess 7 in the hull and a lift. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Holiday ship This invention is a holiday ship, featuring variable places of mooring/several times a year/and intended mainly for leisure and spending vacation at sea.
The hitherto-known solutions for passenger, excursion and hotel ships and for ferries are adapted mainly to transport or mooring in ports. These solutions do not include all of the possible ways of leisure or spending vacation at sea.
The present invention fills in the abovementioned gap in the development of shipping. The object of this invention is a cubicoid hull with increased width relative to existing ships and with a double ship's side and a special kind of deck houses. In contrast with hitherto used constructions the special kind of deck houses are shifted over their whole circumference towards the centre and for each apartment they form a free deck and awning deck with solar-heated water tanks. These deck houses can also have a symmetrical distribution with respect to half the length of the hull.
Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a general view of the holiday ship from above; Figure 2 shows the deck houses shifted with respect to each other with the free decks and awning decks and solar-heated water tanks in a cross-sectional view; Figure 3 shows the symmetrical distribution of the deck houses with respect to half the length of the hull.
This ship, in accordance with the above examples, consists of the cubicoid hull 1 and the deck houses 2 shifted with respect to each other towards the centre.
The cubicoid hull 1, limited by length 3 and width 4, besides the well-known apartment and ship equipment, has double ship sides 5, external watertight gate 6 and a rectangular boat recess with a vertical lift for the boats 7.
The deck houses shifted with respect to each other 2 have free decks 8 terminating with awning decks 9 and suspended under them solar-heated water tanks 10.
The distribution of the shifted deck houses 2, as an alternative, can be symmetrical with respect to the transverse axis of the ship's hull 11 and have free decks of equal size 8.
The double ship sides ensure better safety in case of collision, especially during mooring in port or some other place. The external watertight gate 6 and the rectangular boat recess with the vertical lift for boats 7 serve to bring in and out the boats from the water into the hangar and vice versa. The deck houses shifted with respect to each other 2 serve to provide free decks 8 for individual sunbathing directly in front of the apartment windows 1 2.
The awning decks 9 serve to provide shade against the sun for the windows and protection against rain.
The symmetrical distribution of the deck houses 2 can serve to modify the silhouette of the holiday ship.
1. A Holiday Ship, wherein the ship hull has a cubicoid shape with increased width relative to existing ships and with a double ship side and deck houses with free decks.
2. A Holiday Ship according to claim 1, wherein the cubicoid hull has in its stern part external watertight gates and rectangular boat recesses with vertical lifts for boats.
3. A Holiday Ship according to claim 1 and 2, wherein the free decks are distributed over the whole circumference of the deck houses and equipped with awning decks and suspended solar-heated water tanks.
4. A modification of the Holiday Ship according to claim 1, 2 and 3, wherein the deck houses are distributed symmetrically with respect to the transverse axis of the ship hull.
CLAIMS (22 June 1981) 1. A Holiday Ship, wherein the ship hull has a cubicoid shape with increased width relative to existing ships and deck houses with free decks.
2. A Holiday Ship according to claim 1, wherein the cubicoid hull has in its stern part an open-bottom tunnel recess and external watertight gates and rectangular boat recesses with vertical lifts for boats.
